Every now and again I take a chance on a release because the artwork catches my eye or the title resonates with me and this is one of those times because of both the title and the artwork. 'The World's Gone Mad' is the latest release from Gregory Page, opening with piano stabs and string sweeps before the vocals arrive with a brilliant tone and energy. Somewhere between Elton John, David Bowie and Mike Flowers, Page croons with no irony but also without taking himself too seriously and it is a hugely transporting experience. The sad undertones give this a certain 'end of the world' vibe but if the end of the world sounds this cool then put me down for a front row seat.
