London based CHVRLI BLVACK (possibly Charles Black to his mum) is a photogenic chap, there's no denying that, but what of his music? Well, new single 'Why did You Go?', suggests he has the talent to match the looks and no little amount of ambition either. Starting off with a subdued acoustic strum and shuffling beat, BLVCK's voice veers between Jeff Buckley's more delicate moments and the lesser known Yorke brother, Andy. There's real warmth to this song but the kind of warmth you get from wearing the same clothes and blanket for five days in a pit of of heartbreak and woe - comforting but you know it can't last forever.
