Ellie M has one of the most arresting voices on the scene at the moment and that would be enough to grab my attention but her songs are pretty damn fine too. 'Father Father' features the aforementioned low and soulful vocal atop a blues inspired shuffle'n'twang that makes you want to dance dramatically around a ballroom as the Gospel inspired choir sings you on with encouragement. Think of a beautiful blend of Hozier, Chrissie Hynde and PJ Harvey, if you will, and you're getting in to the right ball park.
