I'm not sure how many palm trees there are in Toronto but, nevertheless, Less Killjoy has chosen the tropical shrub as inspiration for her new single. 'Palm Trees' crackles in to life before a rusty acoustic guitar riff strums in to view and the dead-eyed vocals of Less Killjoy join in giving it the whole "I could care less" vibe. Pitched somewhere between Angie and UPSAHL, this track is all about finding your slice of simple paradise with "Palm trees and Mary Jane" but there's also a sadness of realising that the dream may never become reality. So this one sneaks in to sad banger territory but only just.
