Cosial - Alien

'Alien' is only the second single from Teeside teenager Cosial (Cece Fallon to her mam) but she is already showing herself to be quite a talent. This is an assured slice of ambient alt-pop with a driving beat and deft melodies that burst through in the chorus with a freshness and innocence that are intoxicating. Think a more subdued Lauran Hibberd or Seaker in a more excitable mood than normal and you'll be in the right part of the of ball park. Oh, and it finishes off with a searing guitar solo which not enough artists do anymore so bravo for bringing that back.
