Elena Nieto is the one woman powerhouse behind Yawners and she is bringing her grunge-pop stylings to the UK from Spain, sending ahead new single 'Honey' by way of warning. A relentlessly perky riff, upbeat energy and the kind of chorus that will inspire furious pogo-moshing are all brilliantly delivered like an injection of pure sugar straight to the veins. "Do you like me honey or am I too sweet for you?" sings Nieto on the chorus, breaking from her native Spanish lyrics, and you can almost hear the sweaty crowd of new fans singing the line back at her. I've never seen Yawners live but I'd put a fair amount of money down to bet that her live shows are a lot of fun so now is your chance to get involved.
