In a very 2022 take on the classic rags to riches story, Imen Siar has gone from working in Nandos to signing with a New York label but all of that is irrelevant in light of the beauty of this single. 'Lonely People' fully embodies the mood of loneliness with sombre, soulful vocals ringing out atop a sparse piano melody and slowly pulsating beat. With a voice so full of tone, emotion and warmth, Siar is an exciting talent and this kind of song will pull at the heart strings, especially when it's backed with the swelling production values evidenced on this track. A great single and I didn't mention chicken once...
