Nashville pumps out a lot of music, it has always been this way, so there is a little sifting to do when it comes to finding the real gems but Sean McConnell is one of those gems and I'll hang my hat on that statement. McConnell's new single, 'What The Hell Is Wrong With Me' might be a wordy title but the stomping, Springsteen melody and all-American vocals soon get you in the mood. Mixed with the introspective and self-analysing lyrics ("Every house is haunted when the ghost is in your head", for example), this makes for a powerful slice of songwriting and an uplifting tale of redemption and self-improvement that will resonate with most people. There's a great video too but I won't spoil that surprise for you.
