As punk songs go, admiration for your big sister isn't a particularly well trodden path but I don't think Exeter noiseniks the Issues give a flying fuck to be honest. 'My Sister Was A Punk' is a brilliant slice of story telling about realising that your sister is way cooler than you'd given her credit for set to scrappy and basic but brilliantly infectious two-chord punk. The energy of this track is absolutely intoxicating and I can only imagine the carnage when these four mates hit the stage in full flow. Also, managing to fit in a dig at Coldplay, a false ending and references to Jack Daniels and ignoring your sister have sex the other side of the bedroom wall is a lot for three minutes. More please.
