Larkin Poe are fast becoming a pair of peerless troubadours and their work with the Nu Deco Ensemble is testement to that fact. 'Sometimes' is their take on the Bessie Jones classic made popular by Moby but given a whole new lease of life. Swampy blues vibes are at the core of this, of course, but then the mournful cello adds some depth before the horns throw in a surprise carnival vibe and then there's a folk inspired string section. This is an American classic taken on a tour through ever town on the Americana map and its given a warm welcome at each turn. Glorious.
