carolesdaughter - Creep

I'm not normally one for reviewing cover versions but carolesdaughter is such an exciting artist that I had to give this a listen and I'm glad I did. Radiohead's 'Creep' is anthemic and many covers have given it the slowed down piano version but this goes a few steps further. The verse is delicately and sounds like the music box from Wednesday Adams' nursery but the chorus explodes with raw power, anger and energy that sounds more like something from Trent Reznor's mind. It's true, carolesdaughter is a creep and a weirdo but I'm so glad she is hear to give those darker moments a voice and some strength when we need it most.
