Cardiff lads the Rotanas have picked out some of the ballsier elements if Britpop as reference points for their latest single 'Get The Call' and its a triumphant blast from the past. The stomping guitars and drums combination is pure Oasis, Smaller, early Stereophonics and Cast while the vocals are a little more shoegazey bringing to mind the likes of Ride and even Kurt Cobain in his more introspective moments. If you could go back in time to drop this in 1996 then you might just have a hit on your hands but even in these cynical times it's hard to imagine many people resisting the pure, unbridled joy of a track like this. Now, where's my bucket hat....?
