Liverpool’s Syllo (pronounced sigh-low) has blown me away with the crisp sound and dark moods of debut single ‘Wounded’ and I think you’ll be equally impressed. As the drums roll in to focus and Syllo’s moody vocal grows from clenched teeth to steely stare, you can’t help but feel amazed at the size of this song which has elements of the Killers, Rooney and the Cooper Temple Clause running through it. There is confidence, power and style in spades but Syllo also gives us raw emotion and a great vocal performance that will work from mainstream media to the corners of the alt-pop world which is a neat trick to pull off.
