The excellent Integrity Records have not been idle during
lockdown having signed the Alabama duo Harrison Scarecrow who are described as,
wait for it, Alabama Indie-Noir. Intrigued? You should be. I know I am. The band’s
debut single ‘Everyone With Someone’ comes out today and it is genuinely one of
those songs that stops you in your tracks when it begins and holds you for the
duration. The rippling piano notes give you hope while the beat does its best
to keep things locked down, but the vocals elevate this to epic, soaring levels
and that’s what’s so special. Think the likes of the National, Elboe and even
elements of James in their pomp and you’re definitely heading in the right
direction – if you get to Bastille or Coldplay then you’ve gone too far.
