I don’t normally go in for
reviewing remixes but this is more of a post-modern duet between The Golden Dregs
and Vogues and it is something special. ‘Hope is for the Hopeless’ is
transformed in to a lo-fi 80s electro ballad which sounds like early Depeche
Mode or Human League with vocals recorded under the bed covers late at night. “Self-preservation
is no answer in a world where sunshine gives you cancer” goes the moody vocal
while the melody dances a fine line between robot funeral and a funky road trip
with Tron. Superb.
