PEANESS – SINGLE REVIEW

Peaness – Kaizen (Alcopop!)
Peaness - Kaizen

Release Date: Out Now

Chester trio Peaness have been pinging away on the fringes of my radar for a while now but with new single ‘Kaizen’ they have moved right to the middle like a speeding torpedo. From the get-go, this track screams with perky indie-pop credentials that are pitched somewhere between Bis, Shonen Knife, The Bon Bon Club and Lush and dripping in Japanese pop-culture references. The tight guitars, growling bass and punchy drums are sewn together delicately by the sugary sweet three-part harmonies singing of the Japanese theory of Kaizen – change for the better. Indie pop perfection with matching jumpers, you can’t argue with that.
