HUMANIST FEAT. DAVE GAHAN – SINGLE REVIEW

Humanist Feat. Dave Gahan – Shock Collar
Humanist - Shock Collar
(Ignition Records)

Release Date: Out Now

Anything that Dave Gahan is attached to is bound to be cool but when that thing is Humanist then we’re entering into the realms of infinite cool – like two mirrors of cool facing each other. For the uninitiated, Humanist is the project of producer-songwriter Rob Marshall who recruits some of the finest vocalists to perform with him and this new single is the perfect example of this collaborative effort. ‘Shock Collar’ hits hard and abrasively from the get-go with layers of chiming guitars battling with driving drums for attention and space. Gahan’s voice is reliably smooth, dark and dripping in class like the MC at Satan’s gentleman’s club and it honestly makes the new album a seriously exciting prospect with the likes of Mark Lanegan, John Robb and Jim Jones also lined up for guest spots.
