LUCY AGGETT – SINGLE REVIEW

Lucy Aggett – Company
Lucy Aggett - Company

Release Date: Out Now

Call me old school but I firmly believe that Lucie Aggett is going about things the right way. You see, the 21-year-old singer-songwriter has just released her debut single, ‘Company’, having spent her teenage years finding her sound before thoroughly honing it. No YouTube videos of half-baked songs or hastily recorded Soundcloud links that do nothing but invite confidence sapping criticism at a critical point. Anyhoo, personal judgements aside, Aggett’s debut single is a gentle delight as softly rippling guitar notes are met by the Devon singer’s enchanting vocal which has hints of Wildwood Kin about it. Don’t, however, make the mistake of thinking this is a flimsy or feeble wisp of a folk song as the five minute opus unfurls like a flower welcoming the morning light and displaying it’s wonderful colours and mystifying geometry for all to see.
