KATY HURT – SINGLE REVIEW

Katy Hurt – Unfinished Business
Katy Hurt - Unfinished Business

Release Date: Out Now

I find it borderline criminal that a talent like Katy Hurt is not yet gracing bigger stages when Youtubers are selling out 3000+ capacity venues but there is one reason to be thankful. You see, Ms. Hurt is ploughing all that experience into her songs and it makes tracks like ‘Unfinished Business’ so much sweeter. This new release is a typically warm yet mournful country tune with Hurt’s strong, sweet vocal shining through like the embers of a dwindling fire, still giving out heat. Lyrically speaking, there is a confessional beauty that is so perfectly fitting for the genre but also shows a talent for stopping the world to focus on the smaller details; “There is a book on a night stand I’m ten pages in and the spine’s already been broken. Yeah, the ending’s unknown but it’s written in stone so I ain’t losing sleep”. This is a genuinely gorgeous song full of love, possibilities and potential which will warm the furthest reaches of your heart if you give it half a chance.
