GOZER GOODSPEED – SINGLE REVIEW

Gozer Goodspeed – Running with the Outliers
Gozer Goodspeed - Running with the Outliers

Release Date: 4th October 2019

There is a chug to this one. A chug from the very beginning that is put there to hook you in and if it doesn’t hook you in the we’re going to have to have words. Plymouth bluesman Gozer Goodspeed has built a reputation on creating songs that walk the path less travelled, however, so while I encourage you to enjoy the initial chug of ‘Running with the Outliers’, don’t find yourself dashed on its rocks. As the first single and title track of Goodspeed’s forthcoming debut album, this track has a lot of responsibility on its shoulders, but it stands tall as that chug is met with a steady beat and pumping bass line. The comes the vocal, full of life, blues and pathos, born to tell stories and entertain in a single line. If your musical Venn diagram crosses over Neil Young, the Black Crowes, Jake Bugg, the Indigo Girls and Ben Harper then you will adore this and, like me, you will be very excited about the forthcoming album.

Live Dates:
