SOME BODIES – SINGLE REVIEW

Some Bodies – Higher Self
Some Bodies - Higher Self

Release Date: Out Now

The Bristol scene is definitely winning the annual UK battle this year (closely followed by Brighton) and indie artisans Some Bodies are the latest slice of gorgeous gateaux to emerge from the city. New single ‘Higher Self’ opens with the words “An avocado socialist with a self-help reading list, a pretty boring hedonist, part-time pseudo-physicist” atop a jerky, twitching melody that sits uncomfortably on a park bench next to the likes of Vampire Weekend, Beck, Eels and Hot Hot Heat. The smooth rolling organs work as a mood balancer, injecting a little Beach Boys cool in to the back of the neck but if you look in to the eyes you’ll see that fire burning deep down in the belly.

Live Dates:

24th September – Exchange, Bristol w/Fur
18th October – Purple Turtle, Reading
19th October – Voodoo Daddys Showroom, Norwich w/Annabel Allum + Lazy Days
