FERRIS & SYLVESTER – SINGLE REVIEW

Ferris & Sylvester – I Dare You (LAB Records)
Ferris & Sylvester - I Dare You

Release Date: Out Now

The imperious Ferris & Sylvester are back with a new single ahead of an impressively comprehensive UK tour wrapped around a quick trip to Nashville. ‘I Dare You’ is the latest release from the duo which opens with some delicate, whispered vocals and similarly quiet acoustic notes but, wait, what’s this? The chorus kicks up into a blues inspired, fuzzy guitar riding stomp that puts me in mind of the Dead Weather, the Black Keys and the Joy Formidable. Now, those heading out to catch these two on tour might need to take heed that there is a new direction here that builds on the trademark vocal harmonies and superb song writing to add a harder, sharper edge. And just like that, with one song, Ferris & Sylvester add a whole new dimension to their music. See you in Exeter….
