ROXY GIRLS – SINGLE REVIEW

Roxy Girls – Spanners For Hands (Moshi
Roxy Girls - Spanners for Hands
Moshi Records)

Release Date: Out Now

Sunderland noiseniks Roxy Girls might win the ‘Best Opening Line of the Year’ award with their new single ‘Spanners For Hands’. Over the top of a frantic garage-punk clatter they sing “You’ve got spanners for hands” and you’d be a fool to disagree with them. This is just over two minutes of organised chaos with and art-rock edge that puts these guys alongside the likes of early Maximo Park, the Fall and the Futureheads.  It’s no surprise that these lads have been picked up by Moshi Moshi Records and have Marc Riley pulling them in for 6Music sessions so if you like your music punchy and slightly unhinged then step right up and fill your boots.

Live Dates:

23rd August – The Old Blue Last, London w/Beachtape + Youth Sector
26th August – Head of Steam, Newcastle w/Wandering Oak
24th September – Spilt Milk presents @ Sebright Arms, London
