There’s always a question in the
back of a band’s collective mind about when they’ve ‘made it’ and what that
means but for New York indie-poppers Joywave I think they’ve definitely reached
an important new level. The band are about to head on tour supporting Bastille
across North America, they’ve got Marvel making them music videos and new single
‘Obsession’ is an absolute belter. Pitched somewhere between recent Daft Punk,
Phoenix and Rooney, the slinky bass line and buzz saw guitars lay the perfect
bed for the smooth vocals to sprawl out on and if this one doesn’t get you
strutting on to the dancefloor then you’re definitely more of a Hulk than an
Ironman. They’re heading to the UK for a date in November so keep an eye out
for these chaps.
