The Golden Dregs – The Queen of Clubs

The Golden Dregs - The Queen of Clubs

Release Date: Out Now
There is such a warm and fuzzy
glow around the Golden Dregs that it’s hard not to fall for their gentle
rustlings. The new single, ‘The Queen of Clubs’, is a subdued, near-mumbled
affair that exists in the space between Leonard Cohen, Badly Drawn Boy and Neil
Hannon at his most introspective. Some country inspired and Treetop Flyers-esque
melodies coupled with an off-beat rhythm makes for some encapsulating listening
while the saxophone solo at the end is perfectly pitched. This is a truly
delightful experience steeped in sadness but with tinges of hope all around the
edges.
