Just when I thought my relationship with X Ambassadors couldn’t reach any higher heights they go and bring out ‘Hold You Down’ and I’m just lost for words. For the uninitiated, X Ambassadors are an American trio featuring the Harris brothers Casey and Sam – Casey is blind and plays a mean keyboard. This new single is an ode to their brotherly love and is set to the kind of melody that tugs at the heart strings with Sam Casey’s vocal maintaining strong soul despite the occasional crack of emotion. The video utterly seals the deal with some old family footage, some up to date film of the pair singing at the piano and a climax of them performing in front of adoring crowds. This is a love song, for sure, but one about having a sibling that you are so inextricably linked to that you have to walk through life together and that is surely one of the strongest loves there is.
