MADISON BEER – SINGLE REVIEW

Madison Beer – Dear Society
Madison Beer - Dear Society

Release Date: Out Now

The evolution of Madison Beer as an artist has been a fascinating one to watch and new single ‘Dear Society’ sees another stage of that process played out in front of our eyes. The native New Yorker still has her soulful-pop voice that has served her so well but the beats and vocal melody are more akin to Gwen Stefani, Dua Lipa and Janelle Monae than anything around at the moment. The vocal effect on the chorus line of “You’re bad for my health, I should probably get some help, I can’t control myself, I’m addicted to the hell” makes this message hit home even harder. This is an anthemic ode for everyone who knows they shouldn’t smoke, crash diet, drink, spend so much time on social media but can’t break the habit because society constantly sells you a life that’s going to kill you. Certainly one of the best pop singles of the year and in the running for best track overall – this is how you get the message across.
