Release Date: Out Now

The rapid drums and slinky bass that welcome in the new single from ex-Brooklyn outfit the Essex Green are genuinely intoxicating and arresting in equal measure. ‘Don’t Leave It In Our Hands’ is a patchwork tapestry of so many wonderful indie bands featuring influences from Television, Blondie, theaudience, the Cardigans, St Etienne and Sleater Kinney. There is a touch of French sophistication, some Scandinavian icy aloofness and that direct New York style all wrapped up in the kind confusingly clear message you would expect if the kids from Stranger Things started a band. Oh, and Arcade Fire are producing the whole thing and making the video. It’s as brilliant and bonkers as it sounds and I urge you to fall in love with the Essex Green. Now.
