FILTHY FRIENDS – SINGLE REVIEW

Filthy Friends – November Man
Filthy Friends - November Man

Release Date: Out Now

Filthy Friends are something of a supergroup from the US featuring the likes of Peter Buck, Corin Tucker and occasionally Krist Novoselic among others. The band’s new single ‘November Man’, however, follows a path previously trod by firmly by PJ Harvey but with a beefier backing band. The garage rock surges and grinds with overt sexuality while Tucker’s voice channels that Harvey desperation with a little of the Indigo Girls twang just to give this some real American authenticity and charm. This is a protest song and it has all the snarl and wail that you would require for such a track but there’s just enough to keep you dancing too. Long live the supergroup.
