Now, Saint Agnes are back and
that means good time rock’n’roll, right? Partially. New single ‘The Death or
Glory Gang’ is a bone rattling rock track that channels the undead spirits of
Les Anges, Boss Hogg, PJ Harvey and Patti Smith. There is sludgy bass, sexual
drums and those trade mark twin vocals. But then there’s the visceral and hard hitting
(literally) video which fits the music perfectly but also tackles the issue of
women being harassed in the street as well as the fantasy revenge part that
doesn’t get played out in real life. So that’s a social conscience and rocking
tunes – what’s not to love? Nothing, that’s what.
