FERRIS & SYLVESTER – SINGLE REVIEW

Ferris & Sylvester – Burning River
Ferris & Sylvester - Burning River

Release Date: Out Now

Ferris & Sylvester are ending the year how they started with another strong release which messes with your preconceptions and laughs in the face of your prejudices. ‘Burning River’ is a powerful, folk driven piece with superbly energetic percussion to counterpoint the smooth vocals of our heroes like soft, green moss growing on a craggy cliff face. There is something so primal and natural about this track that reminds me of Brother & Bones and Laura Marling at their peaks but also shows huge range and a desire to innovate from the pair who have had a very, very strong year indeed. 2019 will surely hold huge things for Ferris & Sylvester but for now they’re just going to do a casual Autumn tour of Cornwall and play a show at Union Chapel. No biggie.
