SUNFLOWER THIEVES – SINGLE REVIEW

Sunflower Thieves – Two Halves
Sunflower Thieves - Two Halves

Release Date: Out Now

From Belper in Derbyshire comes the charmingly unassuming music of duo Sunflower Thieves (Amy Illingworth and Lily Sturt-Bolshaw to their friends). New single ‘Two Halves’ is a sumptuously pure indie-folk-pop track that would see them share a (frankly awesome) bill with Sound of the Sirens, Wildwood Kin and First Aid Kit. Softly strummed electric guitar chords, a lazy beat and sweet, dusky harmonies all mingle in the early evening autumn air surrounded by bonfire crackles and long walks with pockets full of black berries. There is a e real ‘end of summer’ vibe in this tune but it is at the end of the summer when we find out who our real friends are as the fair-weather folk drift off in search of excitement. Beautiful music that makes your soul sigh a happy, contented sigh.
