JAKE MORLEY – SINGLE REVIEW

Jake Morley – Trace It Back
Jake Morley - Trace It Back

Release Date: Out Now

I’m over thinker. Lots of people are it turns out and, luckily, now we have a suitably scatty anthem. The marvellous Jake Morley is back with new single ‘Trace It Back’ which tackles that annoying feeling that your good mood has been caused by one specific point in time which you can’t quite remember. Morley’s powerful and pin-point lap-tapping technique turns his guitar in to a percussive instrument as well as one of melody creation while his conversational vocal tone binds it all together. The song writing strength here is in picking up on the minutiae of life, particularly the life that rattles around inside your head, and you feel like you’re hanging out with an old friend who just gets you. Musical and lyrical mastery don’t combine in one song that often so we need to pause and celebrate it when it does. Now, did I leave the gas on…..?
