SISTERAY – SINGLE REVIEW

Sisteray – Wannabes (Vallance Records)
Sisteray - Wannabes

Release Date: Out Now

London upstarts Sisteray are back and they seem pissed off that you’ve followed them down this narrow corridor, judging by their press picture. That said, with new single ‘Wannabes’ being as good as it is, you’d be forgiven for stalking them a little. This is two and a half minutes of glam-punk with huge riffs, a rhythm section thicker than Gary Glitter’s platform boots and vocals that never stop resonating. This should be played at anyone who wants to audition for the X-Factor until their eyes or ears bleed and then they can go and listen to Art Brut as a cleansing exercise. I’m not sure how much better Sisteray need to get before the world sits up and starts paying attention but if they continue on this trajectory then they’re likely to burst through the wall when you least expect it.
