They’re an odd bunch are Ooberfuse. When I first came across them, they were a quirky pop outfit, but this latest release is far more hard-hitting. ‘Ignite’ has a political edge to it but, more than that, the early-Prodigy meets Chemical Brothers electro-melodies combined with breathy, Portishead-esque vocals give this a far more edgy feel. If you want to do your nut in a field to a high-octane dance track with a message behind it then you don’t really need to look any further than this.
