Calva Louise are so hot right
now. So hot. The London trio formed around the charismatic Jess Allanic are
being hotly tipped for big things and based on the evidence of ‘Outrageous’ I
can see why. These three create a wall of sound not unlike Band of Skulls but
with the bratty sense of pop mischief that makes you all misty eyed for the
Noisettes. This track has attitude, style, power, energy and a glint in its eye
that’s hard to place or ignore. If Calva Louise can pack this all in to a two
and a half minute song imagine what they could do with a full album or a half
hour live show. I shudder to think….
