LUVIA – SINGLE REVIEW

Luvia – For You (My Little Empire Records)
Luvia - For You

Release Date: Out Now

Sussex teen dream-pop fledgling Luvia comes armed with an otherworldly single and a name that presents a pronunciation challenge (is it Luv-ee-ah, Luv-ya, Luv-aye-ah?). Anyway, regardless of how you say her name, Luvia’s ‘For You’ is a dreamy, Twin Peaks inspired piece of music that is perfect for slipping under the surface of the bath water to – not in a suicidy sense, just in a “what a crazy week it’s been?” kinda way. The guitar and vocals sound as though they were recorded by a microphone placed at the entrance to a cave where Chris Isaak and Lana Del Rey are duetting. Throw in some atmospheric keys and a real sense that time was taken over this track and you can see why Luvia is been snapped up to a deal and is getting booked in to the likes of the Great Escape festival at such a tender age.

Live Dates:

17th April – Spiritual Bar, Camden
5th May – Sound City, Liverpool
11th May – Focus Wales, Wrexham
17th-18th May – Great Escape, Brighton
