So, Sam Duckworth is back with Get
Cape. Wear Cape. Fly and a single named after the precursor to DVDs which is in
itself the precursor to Netflix. How quaint. Anyhow, ‘VHS Forever’ is a pop-garage
romp with fuzzy guitars, oscillating synths and punchy vocals blending with some tasty horns to create a
right old noise that could only have been created in the UK. It’s a bit Blur
when Graham Coxon is allowed to control proceedings, it’s a bit classic Squeeze
and a lot Joe Strummer which, when you throw in Madness’ brass tones, gives you
the kind of track that might just light up your summer if the world makes it
that far. Cross your fingers and toes everyone.
