REIGNING DAYS – SINGLE REVIEW

Reigning Days – Gravity (Marshall Records)
Reigning Days - Gravity

Release Date: Out Now

Marshall Records have already caught my attention this year by releasing the highly impressive debut album by Rews but they’ve strengthened that reputation by being the label to finally give the excellent Reigning Days some backing. The Devon rock trio have been steadily building a following and an army of admirers for their work and new single ‘Gravity’ will do nothing to slow that progress. From the get-go, there’s a tense energy coursing through the veins of this song that speaks of frustration, claustrophobia and something about to erupt. That ‘something’ comes in the form of a huge rock chorus with the kind of indie-pop melodies structures that will propel these guys from the fringes in to the mainstream. Imagine the power of Queens of the Stone Age, the ambition of Muse and the structures of Biffy Clyro and you’ve got yourself something close to the truth of Reigning Days. Throw in some sweet melodies and three good looking fellas in black leather and you’re so hot it hurts!
