London lads Shiners have a visual
likeness to a young Blur on first look but on hearing new single ‘Goosebumps’ the
similarity is confirmed. From the louche basslines to the perky drums and synth
stabs, this is classic pre-Parklife Blur and it’s a lot of fun, even when the
chorus skirts alarmingly close to Hard-Fi. The video is a confusing blend of a
bit of bukake snuff and a Trump party political broadcast but if that chorus
melody doesn’t stick in your head after all 2 minutes and 47 seconds of this
pop-punk nugget then you’re likely to be tone deaf.
