REYKJAVIK KIDS - SINGLE REVIEW

Reykjavik Kids - Moneymaker (Tigre Fair Records)
Reykjavik Kids - Moneymaker

Release Date: 18th March 2016

Wonderfully named post-punk duo Reykjavik Kids are back with a new single and the intentions are writ large upon its sleeve. 'Moneymaker' is a frantic slice of agit-pop-punk with the energy of early Blur and the frantic frenetic nature of Hot Chip but with beefier guitars. There's something massively appealing about the fuzzed up, scuzzed down sounds and the melodies that find their way out like green shoots growing through piles of concrete rubble and twisted barbed wire. For two guys this pair make one hell of a racket and I would have thought that their live shows would be pretty impressive too. I'm sold, count me in.
