now, surely? The sumptuous Lissie has a new album on its way and 'Don't You
Give Up On Me' is the forewarning shot full of optimistic chord progressions,
twilight slide guitars and the kind of vocals that nestle perfectly in a
country tune. The thing is, this is way more than a country song with flashes
of St Etienne and Dubstar in the production quality and a real darkness to the
lyrics that is rarely seen in the ever perky modern world of country music.
There is a quiet, gritted-teeth determination about this song that is hard to
avoid getting swept up in so why resist?
