I find whistling on a the opening
to a record quite an eerie sound but fortunately the beat isn't far behind on
the intro to this latest single from enchanting London vocalist Tara Priya.
'Who That' has a kind of Kill Bill meets Amy Winehouse vibe with a little extra
inspiration from Alesha Dixon and Priya's powerful vocal style and range is
more than enough to carry the tune. The bass line jumps around and the groove
is a one of a sexy slow jam that is pure R'n'B gold and you could easily
imagine this song rubbing shoulders with the likes of Jessie J, Rita Ora, MIA
and Rhianna on a compilation of strong, female vocalists making a name in the
pop world. And it has a fade out ending which doesn't feature on enough records
these days.
