DAS FLUFF - SINGLE REVIEW

Das Fluff - One Cent Plus Postage/Shut The Fuck Up (Metal Postcard Records)
Das Fluff - One Cent Plus Postage

Release Date: 30th July 2014

London quartet have carved quite a niche for themselves in the form of sleazy, strobe-laden, electro-pop slathered in dominatrix-esque vocals that turn you on and make you feel like dirt all in the utterance of an elongated vowel. 'One Cent Plus Postage' starts with some giddy electronic bleepery before a throbbing bass line and then those vocals kick in with the teasing line, "how much to see me naked?". The woozy electronic melodies, undulating synth notes and sumptuous vocals are at odds with a song which seems to be about selling your soul and dignity on ebay. B-side 'Shut The Fuck Up'  is a slightly more brooding take on the electro-disco genre with the likes of Goldfrapp and Moloko mingling with Nine Inch Nails and the darker moments of the Chemical Brothers. This is dark, treacly stuff being poured over a PVC catsuit while a strobe light flashes incessantly in the corner during a club scene in Trainspotting 2 - Begbie's Revenge.
