THE MOONS - SINGLE REVIEW

The Moons - Body Snatchers (Schnitzel Records)
The Moons - Body Snatchers

Release Date: 23rd June 2014

Ahem, don't look know but the Moons might just be my favourite new band. I said don't look! Jeez, make it obvious why don't you....Well seeing as you've ruined my chances I might as well introduce you. Dear reader, meet the Moons: a quartet from Northampton who look like Keith Moon's bastard offspring (hence the name?) and sound like every brilliant piece of English pop-rock that has ever existed all squeezed in to some tight trousers and a pair of winkle-pickers. 'Body Snatchers' is the latest single from the lads and the chugging bassline mixed with big organs will be familiar to ears that have recently listened to the likes of Muse, Jack White or Kasabian but there's a retro authenticity to the music that transports you back to a time before the internet, games consoles, TOWIE and Now That's What I Call Music every existed - a better time by and large but one I'll never experience so this is close as I can get. Fun, sexy and direct rock'n'roll with all the swagger of the Who and T-Rex, I urge you to fall in love at your earliest convenience.
