SIMEON – SINGLE REVIEW

Simeon – Ground Down
Simeon - Ground Down

Release Date: 27th July 2018

So, the heatwave that is currently gripping the UK is just hitting levels where it’s all anyone can talk about so we all need a slice of cool, refreshing distraction. Cue London talent Simeon and her breezily uplifting new single ‘Ground Down’ to lift your spirits and blow some fresh air through your sweat soaked clothes. Simeon’s gentle acoustic strum and understated vocals give this track an unassuming start but as this one swells towards the chorus with a shuffled beat and some well-placed strings, you get a sense of the energy and positivity possessed by this lady. With a voice that Joss Stone and Janis Joplin would sit easily either side of, Simeon grabs your attention and instructs you to “roll up your sleeves and take off your shoes” which is perfect advice right now. If you’re after a soundtrack to bunking off and spending the afternoon down by the river/coast/pub garden, then look no further. “Slow down, breathe out, live loud”, it’s good advice.
