HYPOPHORA – SINGLE REVIEW

Hypophora – Behave
Hypophora - Behave

Release Date: Out Now

I’m starting to adore Hypophora a little bit now and it’s awkward because we’ve never even met. The Cornish quartet are back with new single ‘Behave’ which I can’t read/say without evoking the spirit of Austin Powers but once you hit play that kinda goes out of the window. The bass rattle that kicks this off is menacing in the extreme and then the guitars and drums mix in to put this up on the shelf between Crazy Arm and Reuben – it’s a pretty awesome shelf if I do say so myself. The vocals of Katie McConnell get stronger and more commanding with every release and the interplay between the melodies and rhythms give this the kind of vibe that fans of NARCS, Biffy Clyro and Incubus will enjoy. There’s a beast of a guitar solo (Mike Einziger eat your heart out) and insane energy levels that mean I really, really, really need to catch these guys live soon. Really.

Live Dates:

28th March – Turbulence @ Underground, Plymouth w/The Native + Tribal Rights
31st March – Redruth Albany RFC, Redruth w/Dead Ground
